This blog started with small daily paintings then changed to a more personal sharing of projects, events and photos. Enjoy!

Lemon Tree
I get to this point of posting and always I have a block as to what to say! I'm more of a visual person, but I do love to read. So while sitting under my lemon tree this humming bird came along--she was interested in the water--I had the hose on the tree in a slow drizzle. I think she must have smelled the water since it wasn't making any noise and it wasn't spraying into the air.

Hold Me
I'm finding that at the age of five, there is a little reverting back to baby ways--my granddaughter is getting old enough to know that she's getting older--moving on to older things--so she's curious about her baby days and loves hearing stories about that time.
Watercolor, 7"x 7"
SOLD
This past weekend was the Dega Days art show at Pacific Dance. I brought in five paintings. I was honored to have Eric Peterson and his wife buy two of them. Eric Peterson is a nationally recognized illustrator and art instructor. Check out his web site. I'll put my other dance paintings back up for sale--in case anyone was interested.
So I made some very unprofessional cards. Since I punched holes in them, I figured I'd make a wooden stand to display them. I used my painting of a stink bug on the cards, so they came out looking like business cards of an exterminator, that's when I knew I had to add some color, sparkles, and little colorful stickers. Oh well, I did have fun creating them!
Speaking of bugs--I don't know what kind of bug engraves these tracks, but I love the designs they make!
Bubble play--I have the yellow straw, but took a break to take these pictures.
My granddaughter was in a parade as a mermaid with her dance troop--letting the community know of the upcoming Little Mermaid performance on June 27th. It was a busy weekend!
I haven't forgotten about passing along that award to other artists--I'll get to that--I will!!

Avocado Leaves and Buds
Maybe this season we'll actually grow some avocados! I hope so. I'm working on a few things--scroll down to see how I frame my paintings.
Watercolor, 7"x 7"
NFS
These will be going into a show at the dance studio where my granddaughter takes lessons.
I'm painting two natal charts--you'll see their progression...
The marionette is strung! His name is Uni, (pronounced Unee) I love his big dirty sock nose.
The winter's light has been replaced. The spring's early morning light catches this trunk and this bouncy ball. Your basic primary color scheme.

Dancers II
I liked how these young girl's dancing arms framed this older viewer.
You may have noticed I took the buy buttons off this painting--I'll be taking the buttons off the other dance related paintings, because I'll be framing them to sell at the dance studio. I'm hoping they sell, but if they don't I'll then put them up for sale again here.

Some photos of before and after Easter.
My husband tried to get just the right color of JADE for his egg.
We made braided bread--yummm!
These are two projects in the making: A Unicorn Marionette, my granddaughter and I made using all found materials around the house, and two natal wheels I'm working on. You may see those natal wheels again as I add more and more to them.

Dancers
So I have this theme going on about dancers--there is a reason. Pacific Dance, the studio where my granddaughter takes lessons will be having an art show, called Dega Days. I'll be hanging and hopefully selling my dance paintings. A % of the sales will go toward the production of The Little Mermaid set for June 27th. Oh, and check out the girl with the balloon--do you think she'll pop it?

Chris Beck recently honored me with this award. Please do check out her web and blog site.
She is an award winning artist, who paints with watercolors and acrylics--very bright and beautiful paintings! Thank you--I feel a little weird accepting this because I didn't accept one sent to me by my sister--sorry Martha! I truly just didn't have time to accept that one, but I do have a few minutes for this one. I'll definitely send this to Martha, first because she deserves it--can't think of anyone more passionate about art--and second, so she can turn it down if she so wishes, then we'll be even!
I'm to send this along to 7 people and link those people so you can peruse their sites. That's a lot of people so I may only send it to however many as I want to--I don't have a passion for being on this computer!! I'm to list 7 things I love--this I can do, but I'm running out of time so I'll have to accept this award in stages--Ha! I could realllly stretch this out! I just might...
Also, I'm changing the name of my blog. Daily Paintings is just a lie! For some reason my paintings are taking me longer than they ever did--same size, but perhaps it's the subject matter--people, hands, parts of the figure, that requires, for me , more time. Painting Daily on the other hand is the truth, well... except for the long weekends when my granddaughter is out of school--(maybe this isn't a good time to accept an award for being a passionate painter)

Ballet Girls II
Another ballet painting. Couldn't resist that ballet hair! More photos from the weekend, below.
Watercolor, 7"x 7"
SOLD
We took a Dora the Explorer hike with maps, a backpack, a book...we had to bring pieces of dried eucalyptus leaves to the log where the bug lives--food for the mama bug; one of our Dora Explorer goals. This lead to our nature art--our mini Andy Goldsworthy.
On this day my granddaughter gave not all of her stuffed animals a ride, but about...well a whole laundry basket full. Note the different animals in the basket. The black cat is an allies cat, if you are interested, my sister is making them again! Check out her Etsy shop. Looks like they're on sale!
