A Community Garden

Walking on a wet morning, I caught this man at work in this community garden. I love this idea and there are so many kinds of gardens in this one large nicely fenced in spot--some tended meticulously, others growing wild. I played with the idea of renting out a bed or two, but I live across town--more of a distance than I'd like.

It wasn't raining too hard--didn't make his soil too heavy.

Hi Martha, you would love to walk through it--they even have chickens and a rooster! I have two artichoke plants growing--the third was eaten over night, by, I think, a gopher--not a sign of it was left--no pieces of leaves--must have pulled the whole little plant right down. (I tried an experiment and planted that one without any box or wire) The sacrificial artichoke!

So much is growing there already and summer hasn't even officially started yet!
