Easter in Trinidad, CA

We spent Easter in Humboldt County visiting my daughter and her husband. We rented a great little house set back in the wet woods of Trinidad, which I'll post about later. We were given complimentary eggs from the owners chickens---little did we know, all the eggs were hard boiled! Did you know you can tell if an egg is hard boiled by spinning it on one of its ends? You really can! The hard boiled egg will keep spinning where as a raw egg just flops out of the spin. We spun eggs, then dyed them. The Easter bunny wrote clues for finding the basket--pretty lame clues that even my granddaughter criticized, but I happen to know that the bunny was a little doubled over with a stomach bug at the time to worry about how crafty the clues were written. The chocolate bunny is still in its box with its ears attached!! Hard to believe, but true!
