Bread and a Colorful Potion

It's spring break for my granddaughter--she had a play date with a friend--they made bread animals and other shapes and ended their play with a potion--wood chips, charcoal, sweet grass, rose petals, a few sugar packets and hot water, (hot enough to see steam, but not too hot to burn--the steam was the special ingredient--making the potion real)

Yes--but made mostly with white whole wheat for the kids--it did taste good!

did you ever tell P about the *poison* potions we'd make from scraping the grape jelly out of the jars and the old bacon grease out of the cans out back at the trash barrels? gross. can't believe we were allowed to play there!!!
