Eucalyptus Pods

Eucalyptus pods, I think. I've seen eucalyptus buttons, I'm not sure where in the growing cycle these pods come in. I think these are from a different type of eucalyptus tree than the one I painted the leaves from.

I love the smell of these trees, we don't have them on the west coast and I sometimes miss them. Love the green and red on the pods. Nice!

Beautiful light and color! I agree that the trees that have the leaves you painted don't have pods like this. We had a windbreak of the leaf variety and they had fringey "acorns" that would turn into brown pyramidal buttons after they dropped off and dried.
