The elder daughter ran home. "Oh Mother--" she began. At once two horrid toads hopped from her mouth, and two slimy snakes slithered to the ground. The daughter was so frightened that she ran into the woods. She was never heard from again. So ends Gordon Laite week. Hope you have enjoyed these illustrations in his honor. My granddaughter has an early day today so I rushed to get this one done--(as the rude daughter rushes into the woods)...Whoops! I forgot to paint her little foot! Well, she won't get too far.
