I found this tape left over at a construction site. My granddaughter wrapped it around the open doors of her toy cupboard with all her toys spilling out. I may just put it back there!
A very lightweight bow, so I had to work inside away from any breeze, but I had trouble with the light inside my house. Feels good to paint again though.
Grass bow and my friend the pesky fly. I have family coming in town for Thanksgiving. I'll be back on Monday--see you then and have a great Thanksgiving!

I paint in my garage if it's a nice day, with the roll up doors open. The breeze kept flipping this light weight bow around--a real tease breeze.
I may do a series of bows--I like bows--it's a great simple knot--why is it considered such a feminine thing?
I was given this big crazy leaf to paint, by my son's girlfriend and I waited till it was dried up a little more.
The sky was beautiful today. Clouds are so fleeting!
The elder daughter ran home. "Oh Mother--" she began. At once two horrid toads hopped from her mouth, and two slimy snakes slithered to the ground. The daughter was so frightened that she ran into the woods. She was never heard from again. So ends Gordon Laite week. Hope you have enjoyed these illustrations in his honor. My granddaughter has an early day today so I rushed to get this one done--(as the rude daughter rushes into the woods)...
"I'm sorry I'm late, Mother," said the pretty daughter. As she spoke, two diamonds, two pearls, and a red rose fell from her mouth. Painting Gordon Laite's illustrations have been fun--like going back through time to my childhood, but also check out the style of dress. Look at that hat the mother has on! Or that puffy shirt/jacket--cool. As a child, this story didn't make much sense to me. I have a strong gag reflex, so hacking up diamonds, pearls and roses seemed more like a curse than a gift.
Each night after dinner, Beast asked Beauty to marry him. But Beauty always said "No." "I don't think I shall ever marry you," Beauty said gently. "But I shall be your friend."
Do you remember this illustration? "Rapunzel is mine!" she screamed. "You shall die for trying to steal her!" The prince leapt from the window. He fell into a thorn bush and was blinded. 
My granddaughter threw the paint down (literally--she was not in the best of moods at the time) I found these characters. I've been thinking about painting some scenes from an old golden book that I loved as a child, The Blue Book of Fairy Tales illustrated by Gordon Laite. These characters look like they came from that book! I'm not sure what's going on here--feel free to interpret and leave a post--maybe between a few of you a story will evolve.
Another hair stick.
Awhile ago I made these hair sticks to sell. To wear these, it helps to have a lot of hair or thick hair; for me, the weight of the wire, yarn and beads will pull the stick out. The stick is whittled from a eucalyptus branch. After the wrapping, the "arms" or tentacles can be twisted however you like--fun--kind of Dr Seuss looking.
I hardly ever wear these beads--they really are BIG, but I like them.
Nope, this isn't a stinkbug--decided to do a self portrait. It was tough to paint today--not enough time--had to be here then there--people calling--things to do, but I had fun with this none the less.
