Cambria's Scarecrows

We drove through Cambria on our way to the Jade Festival--I took just a few pictures of the very many scarecrows positioned throughout the city.

This was fun--and they were all over the town!--great scarecrows!!

Planning the Next Halloween Costume

It's never too soon to plan for your next Halloween costume! We just finished reading,
The Indian in the Cupboard, by Lynne Reid Banks. I was told that next Halloween, my granddaughter wants to be an Iroquois Indian girl. I suggested she draw her costume. I love that she put in the face and the view of the back of the head! Next she wanted to try the costume on her paper doll. Who knows if she'll still want to be this next Halloween, but it was fun to see her plans!

Sewing nodp

My granddaughter will be Mary Ingalls from 'Little House on the Prairie' for Halloween. I'm sewing--from a pattern and making some of it up--adding on cuffs and a rounded collar--her design--her choice of fabric. Sewing is much more expensive than it was back in my day, so I'm hoping to make this a dress she can wear to school--to play in--maybe everyday!
Today's revisited painting is, "Dead Moth"
