
When it's hot inland, this is what covers the coast. It rolls in and stays put for most of the summer--you can easily drive out of it--this is what it looks like driving back into it--it can be a welcome sight--or not.



We took a break from sewing and went on an adventure into town by foot and by our local Dial-A-Ride. I was hoping the trolley was running--nope--that's on the weekends. While waiting for our ride at a near by Inn, this
night heron flew in to drink from the fountain! I guess these birds are fairly common, but I hardly ever see one land right in front of me so close! We
were sitting right next to a heron rookery, but still it was exciting to see this one!

neat bird!! and that is an impressive cloud bank! i was looking at one on the bay today here in portland (sun finally came out!!!) and it's not as dense as yours...
