Elephant Seals

Snouts and tails. These guys need to chill! It's a regular rest fest! On one of my trips up to see these elephant seals, I saw a momma giving birth to a pup! (I think they're called pups) As she trailed along the beach, the pup just slipped right out! Voila! Done! From elephant seals to fairies, princesses, and ballerinas...Scroll down to see pictures from a very sweet weekend!

My son, her uncle came over this weekend and helped my granddaughter play flower fairies--he did her hair!
A princess of course.

My granddaughter drew out this princess ballerina for me to embroider onto her leotard. She picked out all the colors.
The studio after her dance lesson.

...and seal it with a kiss!

wonderful painting!!! wow, to see a seal give birth - AMAZING! ha ha - love the "voila!" comment! probably just like a greased jellybean for a seal, but not for us awkward humans!!!

P is such a beauty - love these photos - love that Uncle George - love the embroidery (you're a sweet and special gramma) - love that last shot with the parasols!!!

What a powerful composition! Love your colors and style, as always.

P is so beautiful...I can see why she is your Muse. I can tell from her lively costumes that she has inherited her Grandmother's creativity. The eyeglasses add a charming touch of precociousness!

Hi Martha, Thanks! And yes that birth sure looked easy! It was amazing! Those little dancers just loved the parasols!

Love the composition of the seals painting.

Of all the photos shown, the last one with the pink and purple parasols would make a fabulous painting, don't you think?
